    1988 KX500 engine to 85' Tecate swap?

Has anyone done this? If so does it line up at all or do you think it would take some frame tweaking? If I can't have a KXT250 i'd at least like to have a better engine haha
    My toys:
    '84 T3 red Parts bike
    '84 T3 green (runner)
'85 Tecate with an LT250r in it
    '04 Kawasaki KX250F

Don't blame the ride, blame the skill.

its been done and it requires a new engine cradle and some creativity with the exhaust... much easier on '86's.

Heres a link to bgm's swap so you can get an idea

without doing the cradle mod, you wont be able to stuff the 500 into the 85 frame. the exhaust port comes straight out of the engine on the 500 and the downtube on the 85 frame will be in the way. the 250 motor exhaust comes out at an angle to clear the downtube.
