I'm sure an off road style light would work, but make sure it doesn't draw more than the stater puts out.

They have a red on under the atc90 sections. It's $33 dollars I think.
I use a Hella offroad road light for my 200 with a 35w bulb.

Dennis Kirk sells the red ones as well. I bought one and put it on a 83 ATC185S, which takes the exact same headlight assembly as a ATC200s but they do need modifications to work. You will have to tweak the mounting brackets and splice or rewire the new one into your existing wiring harness. They are also not as bright as the original because they use a 35w bulb instead of the OEM 45w.

i have a set of the original ones in great shape. Took them off because they are DISC and I bought a headlight guard which takes their place.

Going on pure stupidity, i want 200 bucks for them. They are rare and discontinued.

I would like to keep the same plastic shell that it had stock if its at all possible. the pics i posted with the big metal cage and light is what id like to use and it all looks good i just gotta bend some pieces of the metal cage and get a plastic backing. if at all possible. i have 2 but both are trashed beyond belief. but i have one that holds the light some what and will work as a temperary one. heres the pics the color of the plastic doesnt matter to me.
