Question I Seen an 1984 BR 200es "For Sale" at a Honda Dealer Today?

Yep, I couldn't believe my eyes when I spied an 84 BR in a Honda Dealer's showroom today. I thought it was just for display purposes but the saleman told me it's listed at $2,200 bucks. Now correct me if I'm wrong but isn't it illegal to sell them from a dealership? At the very least it should be illegal to ask that kind of money Especially in the shape it was in. I told the saleman he better contact Honda Canada and get some guidance before he's in hot water.

    Thoughts?

It's my understanding that some elect not to for insurance purposes. Some insurance companies might tell them that can't too.

I don't think there's an actual "law" that says they can't sell them. Some have chosen not to due to ignorance IMO.

it is not illegal to sell them at a dealership, most do not want to bother or trade one in, it is illegal to sell a "new" three wheeler anywhere

when you think about the reliability and longevity and cost of operation/maintainance of the 4 stroke Honda trikes and what kind of a 4 wheeler you can get for 1300, the prices mentioned here do not sound so bad. JMO.

A former Honda dealership near me had an ATC70 on the floor for years. If it wasnt new, it was darned close. Think he was asking 8 or 900 for it. About a year ago the dealership closed down for other issues, but as far as I know he still had it till the end. I had seen it along with a bunch of other floor stock listed on CL in the final months before he closed up....

This joe-blow is really out there then:http://greatfalls.craigslist.org/mcy/2408979277.html. Well, if that's worth it I have a $7,500.00 Tecate I need to post on Craigslist real quick. I just really want to e-mail him to be a d!ck. I mean, get on a computer and research stuff so you don't look like an idiot, does the dude not think folks are gonna find what they're worth? I've been shopping for a dirtbike for my daughter and if anyone gets onto 'Old Montana, motorcycles' you'll see the gene-pool I hafta deal with up here. It's cheaper for me to buy from AZ or CA and have it shipped, seriously.

    ???

That's news to me. They were never banned here in Ontario. Dealers have used ones on occasion here, but with insane prices. The 10 year ban did not apply up here in Canada as far as I know, that's why we have 87 models, rare but they are around. I still get insurance on my Big Red.
