buying my very first trike this week!! I have some questions

I was recently given a frame, motor and some plastics to a 1979 honda atc 110. Ive always wanted a three wheeler but never have had one until now. Id like to fix er' up and on my quest I found a atc 90 of about the same year on craigslist for $100 but im wondering if the parts would interchange between bikes. I need the front axle, tires and motor mounts for my 110, I know from doing a search on the site first that both motors are the same on the outside so the motor mounts should work. I'd just like to know if it would be a good idea to get the 90 to use as a parts bike for my 110.

    Thanks, Bill

Bill, If the 90 is complete I would just fix that one. Depending on the year and condition, some of the 90's are pretty sought after. I know that some may argue with me, but there really isn't much difference between the 90 and 110 power wise. $100.00 is a good deal for a complete 90. Buy it, put some pics on here, and maybe more members would be inclined to give you helpful tips.

I have always though that the differences between the 90 and 110 of the same year were just the powerplant, but I could be wrong.

Congratulations! These folks on this site are a wealth of knowledge and help. You will be amazed at the potential of what you have already purchased. Get both the 110 and 90, and I have a hunch you will be building both. There is a stock pile of parts for excellent prices right here by great members. Classifieds and trikesylvania are the sections you'll be surfing often. Good luck partner.

The 90 is a 6 volt system and the 110 is a 12 volt. They stopped making the 90 in '78 and started making the 110 in '79. Most of the parts interchange, except for the motor and electrical.

I think if the 110 you had was a 79, the electrical might still work, because the 79 still had points and condenser, and not CDI like the newer 110's.
