Awesome.. The porterville foil was used for mainly tt or fast ovals, and put pressure on the front end of the bike at speed. At least that is what I remember. In the 2nd pic posted by HH it's the foil on the triple trees in place of the numberplate.

the front fairing/ number plate,,, used in TT and speedway racing,,,they made 2 verison of the foil i have them both....one was a little better then the other...the foil provided down force on the front end in high speeds.. team bike were put in a wind tunnel for more speed,,,look at the front radiator fins in my pictures,,,,,,different and very trick

I apologize for stepping on your toes. You have an amazing piece of history there. When it comes to Tecate's and racing history.. I'm a sponge. But alas..a poor sponge. :-)

Could you actually tell a difference in handling with the foil on? Why are you wanting to sell this bike? I can tell you like sharing all the stories with us there has to be some attachment to this awesome machine.

No problem Dcreel, you are very smart and have a lot of knowledge from the past, im sure we will meet someday.....

Back to Swampthang,, yes you could, i liked my set up to be a little loose,,Heidi like hers tighter..it was up to the rider, James would set up bike, how you wanted it... i have raced all over the world, yes there is a lot of history with this bike,,if it could only talk.. and i think it did during a desert race that ended in vegas. But, i think it might be time to let go of history, and move on

    Wow, looking great still.

I'd be interested in seeing how the hydraulics work on the neck

There was a post about it on a 250R or a Tri-Z, and someone posted a test that was in one of the magazines.
