There was a guy on here a few years ago that acquired a 86-87 Tecate that had this type of damper. I think he was from somewhere in the northwest. He had some very detailed pics on the workings of it. I'm trying to find the thread, but haven't had any luck yet. Very cool stuff that required actual frame mods if i remember correctly.

Thank you so much for showing us your awesome machine Racingdr.l! I knew that thing would have some beefy peg mounts lol- stock was so weak. I like the one piece rear frame, so cool lookin. Are the holes in the right side of the steering neck where you adjust the dampening? What rear shock is on it? If we could only peek inside the motor lol.................. Amazing- coolest thing on three wheels to me. Thanks again-

ezmoney1979,,the hole in the neck are the fill and air bleed plugs,, the adjuster is in the center of the upper triple tree under the handle bars. it was made by Ram eng. the rear shock was a special made,,very trick valving KYB...you know,,keeping with the stock appearence...the engine was a very special animal.it would rip your arms off, what a joy to race,,,

I noticed it has 84 Tecate rear hubs, is the rear end 84-85 from hub to hub? The rear carrier has an extra hole on the top left side. Just curious..

yes,, you are right it has a jp axle in it too...we knew from testing the 84 set up was the best,,, at the time mitchell wheels were having problem with the wide 4 wheels,, we were ripping the center out of the wheels....... the center section was stronger then the 86-87 , but you know im not sure if it is a 84 section
