I ride with the local game warden, and most of the local cops, all 3 of them. I got stopped on my road by one of the loca police officers while I was on my 200es, turns out he saw it and wanted to hire me to help put up a few fences.

    Imagine that.

Thank god for small town Alabama.
This is my trike. There are many like it but this one is mine. My trike is my best friend, and it is my life. I must master it as I must master myself. My trike without me is useless. Without my trike, I am useless. I must ride my trike true. My trike and I know that what counts is not the amount of miles we ride, but the time we ride together. My trike is human in it's own ways, therefore I will learn it as my brother. I will learn it's weaknesses, it's strengths, it's parts, and it's soul.

The big thing for cops in my county to do is to sit at drugstores and see who comes out. They'll walk in plainclothes and see the customers then radio to a unit outside to watch for so and so. If you come out and get into an older car/truck/van or look like you might be an addict they'll pull you over for BS just to get your reaction. Give them the wrong one and out of the car you go and into theirs. That gives them the right to search. If you have a class A drug it better be you on the script. With 10 drugstores in our 4sq mile town it's easy pickins and not a tough job to do. But try to get them to go into the apt/sec8 projects and clean them up and they'll tell ya it's the owners problem. Meanwhile the open air drug trade thrives down the street from me.
I will say nothing pisses-off a bad cop like being as nice and calm to them. They hate it

I beat the crooked, evil, lying, department of family services in MT. It cost me $11,000.00, and they even brought up false documentation, and charges. Luckily my sister was a social worker and I documented all the broken rules, laws, lies and documentation they illegally tried to sneak to the judge. The judge caught it (we proved it), and every social worker in the department was fired, the county D.A. was made to look like and idiot, and I was given custody of my kids, which is unheard of in MT. You must fight this, as a human being.

I got my own little cop story to share. As levi said its getting the cops to admit to them being wrong.

I had just bought my trike a couple of weeks before this happened. I was riding all the time so I just left it in the back of my truck. Well one saturday night there was a party down the street from me. Around 3 am I was asleep on the couch and heard a bang. My dog went nuts and started barking. This made my wife who was still up look outside and ask me what I was towing behind the truck. I jump up knowing full well the only trailer I have is a camper. Well my trike is half out of my truck. I run out and my wife calls the cops. So they take my tailgate for fingerprints etc.

Go to work monday and the guy I work with was at the party and he tells me who it was that did it. I wait for the cops to do their detective work and they come up with nothing. I tell them who it was and they call him in for questioning. He admits to it and because his daddy is a town conucil member he gets off with saying I'm sorry. I get my tailgate back.

the next day I go and wash my truck and be damned if my tailgate isnt f'ed up. I mean scratched right down to bare metal. Over 700 bucks damage to it. So I call the cops and tell them. They try to say it was there when they took it. Luckily I have pictures of the night to prove otherwise.

Here we are 4 months later though and I still haven't gotten it fixed because they are dragging their heels on it. About ready to take them to court soon if it keeps on dragging.

Bottom line is its tough to fight cops on anything. Sucks that you have to go through this levi, and really sad to hear about your dog. Looks like you have the right idea about all of this though. Do it however causes you the less grief at this point.

I just receved 4 tickets in the mail. they are for unregstered, uninsured, not having my ID, and tresspass. the 1st 3 add up to alittle over $500. I don't know about the other. So far thats 1 hour of my sisters time and from what I was told yesterday by the police they are not gonna drop anything.

Sue them in a civil court case for $20.01 for 'acts of domestic terrorism' and request a jury trial....it's your 7th amendment right.

That will get their attention REAL fast.

The first two tickets may be a lost cause, maybe you can plea them down with the DA. Around here if you get an ID ticket it's thrown out if you can show that you do have an official form of Id to the courts. As for the trespassing ticket If your family owns the land, find out who's name is on the deed and get them to write a letter that gives you permission for use and specifically to ride on the land. This should give you the ability to have that ticket dismissed, also this may open the door to a possible dismissal of the unregistered and uninsured tickets also (this depends on the local laws, most places do not require you to register and insure a vehicle only used on private property - think farms). Now as the saying goes, I'm not the lawyer, but I watched someone play one on tv. I also don't know specific laws of where you live, however I have found a little research into the law can help a lot. Knowledge is power and so on.

By the way are you going to get a new pup?

oh yea, Hang and Rattle - congrats - There is certainly a need for the department of family services, but it's a broken system, and needs to be fixed, you made it one step closer to this. I'm glad you won your injustice.

Not sure about NJ laws - but here in PA if it is a "race only" machine - you don;t need registration or insurance.

    Levi-

I am confused by the "cop and started laying into me about all the calls they get from the storage units ". I have ridden with you before. They are storage units for christ sake. The units are on the other side of your property. What if you wanted to put up a ten foot wall to block the noise?

What are the fines? Noise? You are on YOUR property. I would fight the fines.

Also, ask the cop how you are supposed to get insurance when these bikes have no titles? No insurance=no registration. No registration without lights, turnsignals, etc.

He cannot take the bike. You are riding your bike on your property; you did not need to have it registered. Ask him to show you the Title 39 code showing you do. He can't.
