All right I'll start it off.... Get a 85-86 R. A 2 stroke in the desert opened up is a blast... now let the debate begin.

If your riding dunes then a liquid R would do the job great. If you like a mellower bike you can trail ride and still go fast(not liquid r fast though) then get the X. You cant go wrong with either bike. If you can find both bikes in your area go ride some and make your choice. I dont see to many liquid R in my neck of the woods and as soon as a nice one pops up im grabbing it!

ya its a hard decision lol. i love my air coled 250r and i really want a liquid coole R but at the same time a 350 is temptin. i fund a 350x for 800 and a sick 250r for about the same and both very clean

i like both but the 350x is a better trail bike and is still pretty fast. ide say you cant go wrong with paying 800 for a clean 350x or 250r. i love the speed of my r and the torc of my 350x

i am with thorton the depends on what your riding, where we are the woods trails are rough and tight not 2 stroke friendly but the 350x rules on our type of trails. i also have had both and like both.

i love my '86 350X but if u r really looking for speed and tire spin choose an R. but honestly for tight or rocky and rough trails the X is amazing. u can pick way through it with an R but u might wanna have extra plugs with u. lol. its easier to lug around if u have to with an X and they r still fast and lots of torque.

I've owned both and both are great units. Both have their pros and cons, so it's really up to your preference. I lean more to the R. The one I own now must be one of the few odd-balls because I can lug it around in the woods all day long and never foul a plug. Sure it really smokes when I get on it afterwards, but it's reliable. But the R is lighter, has more suspension, easier to load into a pickup, and faster. Plus, the X gets hot under your legs during the summer. So if you don't care to keep finding 2-stroke oil and mixing gas, the R is probably the right move.
