I have a 1985 200X that I rebuilt over the summer and it has been a great machine the only problem I am having is that with the cold weather the machine does not want to idle it stalls. I have rebuilt the carburator with a new kit but it seems that it hangs up on the high idle for a while but then when it kicks down it stalls. Any suggestions appreciated.

I had the same issue. Only a new eBay carb fixed it. I rebuilt, cleaned, fiddled with the stock carb and could never get it right

When the throttle valve/slide get worn its hard to get them to idle correct .

Might want to try spraying starter fluid at intake connections, might be an air leak. Thats what stung my 200x, had a bad O ring but it didn't leak until it was cold out and the Trike had warmed up.
85 Honda 200x, rider build almost complete, need aftermarket rear shock.
