    Pimping a tired 185

Thought I would share this. My friend had no idea his 82 185s was about to get pimped when I told him to bring his bike over to the house. Myself and a friend (another member on here) -rider- had collected some parts over the summer and were secretly working on them. Check out the before and after pics. Granted...its not perfect, but its a heck a lot better. We pulled this off in a few short hours and overall it cost about 170 bucks for the following items:

-new used tank with no rust inside. I got it for 10 bucks!
    -new used headlight and taillight
-new used front and rear fenders and seat
-new used forks - 5 bucks and a little sanding and paint!
-new used handlebar cover from an 83
    -new petcock
    -some other misc small items.

What a fun afternoon and my friend was shocked that we transformed his bike. In the future, we will most likely disassemble it again and properly paint the frame and clean the motor and pipe. Mechanically, the bike is fine. It is just coming off a fresh rebuild.

wow, that turned out great! Those 185's will always have a special place in my heart (first atc I got). You went this far, pull the 3-4 bolts that hold the exhaust system on and spray bomb it with some high temp black!

This is a cold reminder of how much my "friends" suck. They would borrow the "after" and bring me back the "before". You guys are awesome for doing that. Looks great.
