83 has a round tube type swing arm
84 had black fork bottoms and boots and the tank decals were gold with a black seat
85 was the famous red whit and blue with natrual aluminum fork bottoms and red white and blue tank decals

Yeah, I've got an 86 with a 250r headlight, 85 rwb tank, what I think is a 350x shock, and god knows what else.

It has an 83' 200x swingarm. Regardless, is could be an 83-85, all the parts will swap between the years, and they are all basically the same machine. 86-87 However, are completely different and little to nothing will transfer to the first gen models.

Wow. That's a crazy mix of parts! Also '86+'87 have a square tube frame. Look like 350X shrouds upside down. Pretty clean though. Usually when they r mix and match at purchase they r totally beat.

I think those are Maier super scoops for the 83-85 200X.

well the frame is an 83 200x for sure.there is a vin decoder on the home page in the wrenching section.looks good though.if you need some quick cash you could sell the headlight for a nice hunk of change,its an 85 r.(if its in good shape)
