i hope this guy is flexible about the tecate he thinks cause people are calling from out of state makes it worth a lot more than it is, but all they want is the good stuff left on it, i cant wait to cram this one in the shed i hope all the hondas are nice to it. sure they will be suprised to see a green one, once i get it restored its never going up for sale again. again there are 6 hondas in the shed and about to be a kawasaki.

the '87 looks kinda rough, but definately a nice start to a sweet ride for the right price.. It looked way sweeter in the c-list add

if it goes as i expect im going to replace the broken rear parts then clean it up and use it for a rider, after that im getting it all redone, new plastics and i definitely will need a shiny chrome exhaust for it. im not a kawasaki person YET. i use a paul turner for the 250r now do those parts also work well with tecate's.

I think your options for pipes are limited.. besides jemco its kinda like run whatever you can find.. The stock pipe is probably much better than a stock honda pipe.. 85-86 KX pipes can be adapted nd4speed has a thread somewhere about it.

Is the tank as sweet as it looks? Or are the pics decieving? No key? or is it broke off and hiding behind the headlight shroud that appears to be in good shape? One of the best things about restoring a second gen is having OEM fenders still available! And the reproduction shrouds can be had as well.

The Tecate's are faster. That's a fact. & when someone brings up a souped up 250r the B-1/B2 can be also. Apples to Apples they are quicker and faster, but, not as comfy. They are raw and violent, which I think from reading your posts and the way you ride will be right up your alley. But becoming more and more popular, so It'll be worth more, they are rare, but that dude sellin' needs a reality check, that tike is rough and neglected, he's not sellin' a $1000 machine. A nice 250r goes for that in AR. That's a good start, but look at ezmoney's, that thing will stand out and shine in a sea of red. But, I am impartial, 250r, Tri-Z or Tecate, all the same to me.

Looks like the shift lever might be stripped as well. When they dangle down to the frame rail that usually means a stripped out lever or splines.

i'm pissed! a guy im miami craigslist had one for sale with a kaw- 250 4 wheeler for 1100 for both so i call him friday he says he sold the three wheeler but he wants 800 for the 4 wheeler so i say how much did you sell the kaw- three wheeler for he says $300 i like to die im kicking my self for not calling thursday night ............. all it need was a carb and a pipe he says it was a part bike (ya right)

well i just got back, the trike needs a crap load of work, the swing arm bearing is loose and vibrates the shift lever is messed up and the gas tank is painted, thats only very little of the problems it runs good but just isnt worth what he wants so im going to go price all the parts i need to get it back into good shape then see how much i come to and then tell him how much i can pay, this is a very risky project. i want it but he is going to have to understand that its going to cost as much in parts as i can buy a decent 250r for but i hate to see it go through more neglect so i will give an effort to get it cheap. if someone else wants to beat me to it then do it but if not then i got to rescue it.

the kick starter spring is shot it goes up a little but after a kick i have to pull it back up with my hand it fires up and runs strong. i am looking at the needed parts right now then tomorrow going to call him and let him know what its worth.

It does run good, but is NO 310 kit.

yea its bored thats all i fired her right up and did some laps i will tell you what i was blown away. not as fast as my R but it had to be the fastest kawasaki i have ever been on i wanted to stay out there all night and tear it up but i its not mine yet. i laughed at what he said about the bearings being shot, he said oh thats for cornering. no the bearings are shot if he dont agree to my price tomorrow im just going to let him sit on it till he finally just tells me to get it off his property cause only way thats leaving at his price is if some little kid or as you would call NOOB gets fooled.

for some reason i am drawn to that trike. even though its seen better days theres something about it that just makes me not want to give up on it.
