Brand/Type of Oil for Honda 4-strokes and 2-strokes

I ran it in my 200X and tons of other wet clutch engines and never had a problem. However STP car oil additives can have too much moly, as well as Lucas to make a wet clutch slip. Modern car oil is actually if anything too low in content of moly and zinc. Wet clutch oil has more moly and zinc, so it has more friction reducing molecules than regular car oil. Wet clutch oil reduces the friction in the clutch to allow for smoother shifts. There's really no way that regular car oil ruined your clutch. Probably was just the clutches time to go, and coincidence.

strangly i changed the oil on my very first atv 4 years ago which was a 85 200x, i used regular motor oil in it, (automotive) as i didnt know any better, rode the next day and the clutch slipped from there on out

X2 CAR oil=bad

Someone gave my a quart of Royal Purple Racing ATF. Works really well, I like but its not cheap.

all my 4 strokes get shell rotella 15w40. the stuff in the white bottle. its heavy duty diesel oil, says nothing about energy conserving only there syn blend and full syn say engery conserving, thats what can ruin a cycles clutch.

I run Rotella 15-40 in my four bangers, and type F atf in the 2 strokes.
