The stocker in the first gen Tecates is just too short. It was really fun because it would wheelie if you just looked at it funny, but you put a set of 20's on there and it just looks wrong.

My green machine is a +4".. It will wheelie on command in any gear.. but the 4" is kinda funky since i sold my durablue and went back to stock. Are you stock width?? I may be gettin another Tecate and am trying to decide how long to go with stock width axle..

Mine is stock width and the swinger is +2 and 5/8ths. Why 2 and 5/8ths you ask? I had gotten new wheels with 20" tires and they just didn't look right. I had no choice but to cut the swinger. I put the wheels in the wheel wells where they looked good and that's the measurment I got. We just did TecateDan's with a 3" stretch.

+2 on all 3 Tecate's I have and have had. Feels like the perfect length for duning, mx, and trail. I agree the stocker is too short for a modded Tecate.
    Rides:
1986 ATC250R (sectional pipe and Klemm Research silencer)
1986 ATC250R (Desert Bike, WAX-ON seat, Dual Cibie lights, Steering Stabilizer)
1979 ATC110 (Bandito frame and forks, Turbo wheels, disc braked)
    1982 ATC70 (Lifan manual 125)
    1987 LT80 (piped, widened)

Plus 5 HRE Swingarm....with a plus 6 Dura Blue Axle. Hooks up well drag racing, with decent handling everywhere else....can be tricky at times I guess! Soon to be mounting my plus 2 Cal-Fab for ice season.

Judging by poll results not many running a long arm.. I'd of thought there would have been a few hillshooter tecates...

I had a 6" durablue too.. sold it to tecate z. It was very stable even with the extended swinger, but it was always hanging me up on narrow hillclimbs... The offset of my paddle wheels put me about 51" wide.
