    BIG RED South Africa

I bought my first 3 wheeler in August from a friend of my father.
    Its a 84 200es, I since acquired another 5!(x4 200ES and x2 200E)
Between my brother, my father and myself we have almost finished restoring 2, the other 2(they are running) we will restore next year. The E's I have broken up for parts, Big Reds(and 3 wheelers) are scarce here in South Africa so I am still on the look out maybe for another ES for parts as I am still missing a few things.
They have all seen a hard life on farms.
Of the 2 we have restored the one was in pieces and the other was running but smoking badly. The wiring was a mess and pull starter had a 6 inch nail in place of a handle!
I had it bored and fitted an oversize piston.
Here are some before and after pics.

    looking good so far!
hey biggest thing on thise are the drive shaft and rear end boots. also the rear end gets water once the boot cracks into it and rusts the bearings, so before you go ripping on it, pull the drain and fill plugs on the rear and use a flashlight to check the rear, if you see it rusty inside, take the rear end appart and repalce the seals and bearings or you'll do major damage and enver be able to fix the rear.

Boot was still good, I have drained and replaced oil. There was a little bit of water in the oil however, thanks for the tip I will check it out sometime with a flash light.
The front forks on all of them were stuffed, I have reconditioned the 2 I restored, I had a local shock absorber manufacturer make me new dampers for both.
