    are jets universal?

im getting around to rejetting my 350x this weekend and i was wondering if i need the few jets that come in the stage 1 kits or stock kits, or would i be better off buying a range of jets individually and just trying out each one? ive read up jetting but never done it before. the only kits i see that offer sequential progression are the kits with 300 pcs and cost about 250.

"Jet kits" are a waste of money. Just buy a few sizes above and below what you have in it now. Any dealer should have them induvidually for around $3-$5 a piece for a main jet.

you could also look into the "dial-a-jet" setups. those are awesome for performance bikes.

The dial a jet is a good idea but realistically just a major PITA.

Just go up or down a couple sizes. If you are thinking of jetting up get the next 2 sizes up, etc. They only cost a couple bucks each. No reason to get a jet kit for $250. Just re-jetted my YT175 for around $9 bucks.
