Few pics of my new 86 X

A few of you noticed that I have a new trike, well here are a few pics of it. I'm going through it right now and cleaning / painting things as well as finding parts that need to be replaced. I have a dg skid plate, new clutch cable, front wheel bearings, and decals ordered right now. Other than that it needs the bushing that goes between the rear brake hub and the swing arm. PS that plastic renew works great! The front fender had some pretty good scratches in it, but they all came out and it looks great now! :-D

That does look very nice. Is that front brake holder thing annodized blue or just painted? The motor looks brand new? Just clean or is it a crate engine? I think it has '85 tripple clamps and a '85 front disk, but everything else I can see says its a '86.

Sweet bike! I'll have to try that plastic stuff on my front fender, everything else on my bike is brand new!

What do you all use to clean up the metal on the bottom of the forks/triple tree/rims/axle/skid plates/ etc????

hrc200x, I knew the front disk was an 85 by looking on parts fish, but wasn't aware the triple clamps were too. The frame is definatly an 86 as well as the rear end parts. Funny you should ask about the front brake line holder, it's actually blue annodize spray paint. I like the look of it personaly. I might paint the rear hubs with the same stuff. As for the motor I just touched up the spots were paint was missing and gave it a good coat of wd-40.

350x'inNY, I use mothers alm polish on the metal. This is atvnut's old X, I think you've seen it before when he had it.

Honda atc70, I do miss the Z, everything on that bike was the way I wanted it. I think once the X is done i'll be just as happy, I hope! LOL

    Plastic restore

Is that stuff color-specific or can you use it on any color plastic?
