Ice crash to start the year = new front end.

Well, it all started last thursday. We were out playing on the trikes at my buddies house on the frozen pond out back (the one I made the little movie trailer on) and I T boned my buddy. I was riding my 85 200x and he was riding our other friends YTM200 (that I sold him). I was racing along the orchard to fly out on to the pond and he was heading from the back of the pond to the front. There is a blind spot on the path I was on until you get to the pond, it's on the side of a little hill, as I came on to the pond my buddy was right there, both of us had the trikes pinned and there was no stoping. I hit him right in the side and we both went flying. He bruised hi's elbow and my head was ringing for a couple days but no real harm done. The YTM got it's right side foot peg and brake peddle bent but no big deal. My 200x on the other hand ended up with badly twisted and bend front shocks, bummer.

So, another buddy of ours has a 83 250r with a dead motor, need top end rebuild and he's not doing it till spring so he says "use my front end then replace yours or keep it and replace mine". So I know have a 85 200x with a 83 250r front end and a 85 350x headlight. Looks real nice and the 250r front end is a major upgrade. Switch was easy. Had to use the bottom bearing carrier from the 250r and the top bearing carrier from the 200x. Also took the opportunity to install a nice set of bars I got from a 2007 Kawasaki 250 enduro, look nice.

So in reflection, always look out for the blind spot and if you don't and you crash, upgrade!

First pic is before crash, others are after front end upgrade/fix.

    Be cool.

I was checking a pond on my parents property to day. I can stand on it now. Can wait to get the trikes out on it soon.
