i agree with her flippin him off. once you guys who ride on the streets do run from the cops you endanger every one else on the road. i was almost hit by a cop car chasing a guy on a stolen 400ex. i think he deserves what ever he gets. not to say that i havent riden on the road before but that was on a fully tagged bike doing the speed limit in full riding gear on a rural dead end road.

The bottom line is this guys, we all need to watch out for our own actions. Mainly cuz our actions could stop or hurt the ATV sport in general. We all do stupid things in our lives and we have all broken a law here and there(No ones perfect). Just go out and ride sensibly and try to keep from causing havik and always try to respect others while riding(meaning blasting up and down a street).........peace

I own a house and I have kids and I live in the city and I will take my trike out for an occasional ride down the street. I dont understand the whole kid analogy, what is the difference between a trike/quad/ or a car. You need to keep your kids out of the road. Mine only play out front if I'm out there with them otherwise they stay in the backyard. I think alot of it depends on how you respect your neighbors. Noone has ever said a word to me and if a car is coming down the street I pull over and let the car pass becasue they have the right away. I'm never careless or do anything destructive like ride over peoples lawns. The other factor is how strict the law is where you live. They seem to be pretty good in my area especally when it snows out, you will see tons of quads and snowmobiles up and down the streets.

    Respect

It is all about showing the proper respect. As long as your neighbors are ok with what you are doing, you should not have too many problems. If your actions upset the neighbors, then you need to change the way you are doing things.

you all came on a bit harsh dont u think..it could be a car truck van atv atc motorcycle that is coming down the road and a kid could be out playing..atvs and atcs have brakes on them like everything else does so you just gotta teach your kid to be a bit carefull i dont want to make any enimies but i just want to voice my opinion..some old people get annoyed at litte things we all know someone that is an old crank i know i certainly do. Just ride your 3 wheeler using common sense...if you have to take road to get to the next part of your trail then watch the trafic try to ride on the shoulder of the road and dont make yourself a problem if someone comes waving a finger trying to get u to stop stop..you will get off easier then if your atc gets reported to the police and when u get home from your ride the cops will be at your front door waiting for ya....if you want to open your 3 wheeler up find a straight strech of road that few people go on away from houses.....i certianly think it'd be safer to go 55 miles an hour down the road for a short period of time then to go 55 miles an hour thru the woods or down a trial...just ride and use what u have between yer ears...just my opinion folks

Very valid point here. We all must teach and respect each other. The bottom line is that if the Police and neighbors don't have a problem with you riding on the road then so be it. Just PLEASE be careful. ANY accident that happens with a ATV whether the ATV or operator / rider is at fault or not looks bad for the ATV community as a whole.

    trike haters

i bet the first guy that posted this thread regrets it....

around where i'm at... we know to stay away from neighborhoods and city streets, you never know when something bad will happen... you could be the best ride on god's green earth, but someone could pull out in front of you, kid could wander in the street.. anything...

use your head... not just to cushion your fall either

try to avoid riding on the road...im only 14 and i know a few things...drive at a reasonable speed with a helmit on stop when people want u to it may be to avoid barb wire fence or other dangerous hazards etc..if you see a police car make sure your on the shoulder going slow...most tend to leave you alone if your being responcable rider...a little common sense...i dont htink anyone should argue this...and for u people saying something aliong the line of "oh i never ride on the road its dangerous etc must have drivin on the road at some point or another..if u havent you must live in the desert or somewhere were their is no civialization...but were the majority of us live thier is roads around us alot or water so you gotta go over a paved bridge or else u drive around yer field which would get fairly boring in my opinon after a few days, when u gotta go on the road watch yourself as if you we're driving a car...use responcible speed so if something should come out infront of u you are able to stop in time thats it thats all ..im not trying to make enemies simply state a point

I was teaching my boy how to shift the big red in front of my house a coulpe days ago, he'd go 1/2 block down, turn and come back. Some neighbor kids would wait until he'd get about 10 feet away and jump out in front of him. I start heading down to inform them of how dangerous that is when their grandma starts reaming my boy about "speeding down the street". He's hitting 2nd gear on a stock ATC200e...how fast is that, 7mph? The little electric kiddie quads could out run him. I told him to put it away, I know it isn't fair, but what he was doing is illegal. So now we just have to wait a couple days before taking it back out. In case anybody wants to know why I'm teaching him in town instead of on the trail, it's because once he hits the trail I'm not going to catch him on foot!
