You drill and tap holes in the back for a grease fitting, they hydraulically force them out, as well as beat on them prior to cutting the threads. The slide pins are not threaded.
At least you know WTF they are, to most guys this is like a space shuttle oring. Don't get me started, it's early and I haven't had a cocktail yet.......
In the past, I'd use heat to get them out but that was a crapshoot.
Use the small grease fitting, buy the tap and make sure you have the drill bit for it.
Such a pretty frame just waiting to break....

Ok guys, I'm doing a complete nut and bolt on my recently acquired 86 350x. The bike itself is sort of frankenstien of various 85 and 86 parts, and some other machines to boot (check out the muffler....I like it, sounds and looks good, so I think I'll keep it). The front brake caliper is off and 85, so it has 2 pins for the pads. My question is, how in the world do you get the plugs out so I can unsrew the pins. The joker who owned it before me had the same problem...looks like he tried to drill them out, with no luck. I'm sure someone out there has run into the same issue, any suggestions, as crazy as they may sound, I'll give em a try...I'm at my wits end here!!!!
