250 sx

hey all... im going friday to look at a honda 250 sx 1985. all original minus tires. the owner says he has a title for it thats never been titled an all the original paper work from the first sell at the dealership... my question is this... any thing in paticualr i need to be looking for in this machine... im not very familiar with the model itsself.. so i figured id ask around... cant hurt..
so if anyone has some advice on do's or dont's with this model holllaaa lol

thats a clean looking sx. its a pretty well built machine so they are usually pretty good. i would check the gas tank to make sure it doesnt leak or have too much rust. its got a nice rack and that trailer hitch is the ballz. i searched high and low to find one of them. other than that just check the normal things, oil, lights, shifting. im sure someone will chime in with more

he said ( owner) that it had been in a garage for yrs. has had the tank coated so he says.. carb rebuilt an new battery an tires. so we will see said hes had it running for a yr since him acquiring it...thanks for the advice.... for sure. i need all i can get lol

check swinger bearings, take it for a ride and listen for any noise from the rear diff, even a clicking noise means you will need one soon, check front wheel bearings, check rear axle bearings. pull the drain plug from the rear diff see if its milky. check the oil. see if the engine ticks? make sure the choke works 85`s can be a bugger if it doesnt, they have a cold start issue. check the kicker to see if it works right and the electric start. try the reverse. run it threw every gear. that should cover it.

check the shocks, shifting, brakes, tires, motor, inside of the tank, lights, cables ( ie throttle ), compression, ( should be able to tell when you drive it )

are the hitches rare or worth anything? our 250sx has one
