I'm with Thorpe. I have a 85 250es and have no cold start problems after a rebuild. First start of the coldest mornings with the choke on it fires up on two kicks.

    That is for a 250es. Would it work for a 250sx ?

I have an 85 250sx and (for me) a carburetor rebuild kit was not enough to fix the cold start problem. Maybe it was the quality of the carburetor rebuild kit? either way, it did not work. For around 20 bucks, a carburetor rebuild kit may be worth it for you.

I put my 350x carburetor on the 250sx and decided to put a 400ex carburetor for my 350x.

The 250sx with the 350x carburetor not only gave the trike a performance increase, but the cold starting problem stopped.

I believe the carbs are the same as were the cold starting issues on the '85 250es and 250sx.

The 86/87 250SX carbs (Keihin 08 I believe) will start and run the best.

If you have mods, the 350X carb is the best you can do.......

I don't know what mods I would need. I was hoping the 350x would just kinda plug in there. So far the votes are all tied up 2-2-2

The 350x carburetor will plug in fine. No modifications at all.

You will have to unscrew the lever choke and then screw in your 250sx switch choke and then your all set.

the 350x carburetor fit perfect for me.

It's a quad that is like the 350x atc. Only 5 speed/with reverse and 250cc as opposed to 350. VERY similar to 300ex.

Need to find my airbox tube and rebuild the carb, but it's been working since I put it in. Had to cut the choke lever it half as it hit the starter's mounting bolts. But it's nice not worrying about choke plungers.
