    Oil questions

    I'm going to change the oil in my 83 185s tomorrow, i was wondering what brand, and what weight oil you guys would recommend? and how many quarts capacity?

    10w-40 whatever brand...i use napa because my dad gets it cheap at his work

    Check out a manual, do a search, and you will find it. It holds about 1 quart. I would go with no heavier than 10w40, but some people run 5w30 during the colder months. Valvoline 4 stroke ATV motor oil is always good, and a lot cheaper than buying oil at the dealer, like Honda oil. I dont remember, but I think it comes in 10w40, which would be perfectly fine, and is also good for the clutches.

    just make sure its for motorcycle/atv use. car stuff can ruin your clutch because of energy saving additives. The trike uses a wet clutch that uses the motor oil to lube the clutch. thats why cars have no problem because they do not use a wet clutch lubed with engine oil, but motorcycles/atvs do...
