Clearance between tire and exhaust pipe. Honda 1985 Bigred 250es.

Just wondering what the minimum clearance you would need to not melt your side wall of your tire. I know you have nothing to worry about when riding, but when it gets hot., and sits. between rides. Thanks for any input.

I've seen front fender melt from the headpipe
    but rear tire?

Seems easy as can be to add a heat shield or 2.

I think I rolled up some regular house flashing so it was essentially
2 or 3 layers in the coil, rolled it around the pipe and pinned it.
No heat at all on the outer layer.

    (stovepipe technology)

Of course you could get a real aftermarket one that actually looks cool too.

If your worried about it, stick a set of 1.5" spacers on it... Makes it ride better too (love mine)
