ATC Crazy i know it sounds crazy but its true. is a 1 piece crank good for just messing around and dirt jumping or should i go with a 2 or 3 piece? i want to put this thing together for cheap because my mountain bike is just too heavy to compete with my friends bikes.

How much money do you have? That will ultimatly determine what you can get. 1 piece cranks are ok if you get a decent brand, however nice 3 piece are the real way to go. Figure at least $200 (pedals, crank arms, sprocket carrier, and bottom bracket) that is for low grade.

Definately get 3 piece cranks, all the 1 piece cranks i ever had got bent all the time, stair jumping is a bad offender of bent cranks

Definently go with the 3 peicers, once you get them you will never go back to those crappy one peicers, plus they look alot cooler.

1 and 2 piece cranks = PURE SUCKYNESS. Ive got a xs 3 piece thats lasted the whole time ive had my bike, too bad they stopped making them, they were only like 80 bucks or something. otherwise, poverty makes some nice cranks and stuff. www.danscomp.com sells super cheap stuff... anyone whose gonna buy some bmx stuff go there.
