some advice is needed

I am gonna be going to check two trikes a tecate and a 250r. found out about them from the guys bro at at pawn shop, when I was scoping for atc parts the didn't know the years of them. When I talked to the guy its his kids 250r I geuss it has abunch of aftermarket parts. Then the guys like oh I have one also he was like oh man what's the name of the one kawasaki made. I was like is it a tecate he was like yeah that's it, I didn't ask price cause want it to be a wow factor if its a 86 or 87 lol. Alright now the question what should I expect to pay I know I know tough with out a year hook me up with all years lol. And what should I look for, I have never messed around with the two stroke beasts. Thanks fellow trikers

never had a 2 stroke so i dont know what to look for but i do know the years.
250r (1981-1982 first gen 1983-1984 second gen air foolers) (1985-1986 third gen liquid r's).
tecate (1984-1985 first gen) (1986-1987 second gen).
there are some differences from the 81 to 82 250r but im not sure what they are.
