Wide Open fuel tank and ebay Carb for 200s

I bought a brand new $25 carb for my 200s from ebay, it is some kind of chinese one that is similar but is not exactly the same. I put it on last night and it fired up second pull. it seemed to run great, revved out fully, idled fine, but when you jam the throttle quickly it bogs down and dies if you dont let off.

I moved the needle down one notch (richer) it is now on the richest notch I put a new plug in and ran it through the RPMs for a few mins and it looks like a very light tan...maybe even a bit too lean. Any idea what this could be

I also bought one of the wide open plastic tanks off ebay...it fits pretty decently. but the gas cap leaks..pretty decent tank for $110.

did you adjsut the mixture screw? also are any mods done to the 200s? you may have to get a larger jet. what size of a carb did you get? the stocker was about 21-22mm in size. the chinese ones oftem are 26mm+ that means you could be to big of a carb for it and that would certainly mean jetting.

make sure the choke lever is down. i bought a new carb for like 20$ on ebay for my 1983 185s and the only trouble i had was hooking the gas line in the right spot and getting use to the choke lever. havent had a problem since. it works great for me.

It does have a Cobra exhaust.

By the mixture screw, is that the same as the pilot jet screw.

Increasing the size of the main jet was my next thought...just have to figure out where I can buy them.
