83atc250r o recenly changed fuels whats the best ratio

I chanhed fuels from 50:1 to 30:1 but it smokes alott more since I switched what is the best fuel mix ratio for 83 atc250r???

i use 50:1 in my 83r and i put the needle in the carb to its leanest setting and it runs like a dream

I tried a few and here the results I found worked best for my R:

1/2 cam 2 - 1/2 pump gas, golden spectro premix, 20:1 mixture.

it does smoke a little more than other ratio's, and you do need to warm her up to clean her out before beating on her, but I haven't lost an engine since I went with that formula. I think the 20-1 ratio is what is recommended from honda anyway - at least that's what the sticker on the tank said. whatever you end up with remember to adjust your carb as needed.

ya it doesnt realy matter as much about the mixture as long as you tune the carb right, the old 2 strokes arent as picky as todays for mixture

What does the premix oil maker recommend? Some of the makers suggest the best mix ratio. If the maker doesn't recommend a ratio, then follow what the manual says.
