85 ATC 250R Gas Tank Shroud Bolt Question

I was removing my shrouds off my 85 R Gas Tank and the last bottom bolt, the nut decided to spin in the tank, How do you hold the nut so you can remove the bolt??? My shroud is original and in very good condition so I do not want to break it. I tried holding it with a flat blad screw driver, Now I'm thinking of cutting the bolt.

drill the center of the bolt out so you dont wreak it thats what i do

has anyone ever come up with a fix to this problem of the shroud nut spinning in the tank??
So when you reassemble you can use that nut??
I have a nut that has split and a piece of the thread gone, still works just can't really torque on it.
I would like to fix it properly for the next time I may need to remove shroud.

The one that is spinning is still sitting on the shelf.
