Some of the things about 4 stroke porting on here are really amazing me. Alot of bad info in my opinion. 4 stroke porting is not idiot proof firstly. Also, there are gains by porting 4 strokes as well. IF you don't believe that, than just look to any 4 stroke drag racing machine. Pro Stock cars, Pro Mod cars. Granted, they are making way better parts nowadays then they once did, but equipment still needs fine tune porting and polishing. Many people made their livelihoods from rewelding and reshaping intake and exhaust ports on different machines. It's also very easy to overport 4 stroke parts and reduce them to junk. Or to weaken the spots where vavle guides are driven in a head to the point where they will crack and cause major problems. There is a big difference between match porting parts and for altering intake and exhaust runners to enhance perfomance. I don't claim to know much about 2 stroke or 4 stroke porting. I leave the real work to the professionals.

I know my dad hassome heads for his old plymouth that he used to race. The walls where so thin, he built them up with atleast a half inch of jbweld. I bet he wishes he could weld aluminum! He's more a 4 stroke guy than a 2 though. I love the 2 strokes . He ported out the heads on brother baja bug, it made a difference, but not like new heads would do. There is alot to be gained in 4 strokes, just not normaly as much as the 2 strokes benefit. I love making old 1970s and 1980 2 strokes go, porting was so new and foreign to most people at the time.

I got a 1985 suzuki fa50 moped on my list to port soon
Stock speed is 30mph. If i can reach 40, I will be happy. I will also make a custom pipe, it's a 2 stroke with a straight pipe lol

Here is a porting video from Ken O Conner, he's good at what he does, but this is just an idea of how to port a cylinder, he is working on a blaster.

@bredneck I haven't had an IT cylinder to copy, all the pictures of the ports are either hard to see or to dark. No good pics. This cylinder i started working on in the video... I'm going all out on it, the last 1, I didn't do all that i could. It had the stock reed cage, this 1 is going to have the blaster reed cage.
