pitted up head chamber-whats it mean?

if your heads combustion chamber has small dings and dents, what causes this? probably something bad, but what specifically? does it cause a loss of performance at all? Im sure it does if they are huge pits, but slight small dings and dents, what is that deal all about?

pitted up head chamber, what's it mean

What machine was it on?? It has now or has in the past smoked a piston most likely. Pieces of the piston were bouncing around and put nicks in the combustion chamber.

it is from pieces of..whatever (rock, dirt, anything), getting in there, and smashing against the top on the upstroke up the piston........it is also caused when the engine gets blown up chunks of the piston hit the head.......it doesnt cause a dramatic decrease in power, but it does cause some, nothing really noticable though, you should be good to go

84ATC250R has it - Probably just junk that got past the air filter. Alot of bikes suck in dirt at the air box to boot junction - I highly advised sealing those with silicone. Anytime a plug is removed without cleaning the surrounding area dirt enters the cylinder that way too. Last is the " I sure hope it isn't a bearing or powervalve or any other piece of metal just waiting to self destruct!".

the little 60 is pretty bad, not enough to worry about though. Almost every 2 stroke Ive had apart is like this. I guess its nothing much to worry about. (obviously they were blown up pretty bad or run hard at some point, eh? what do you expect from 20 year old machines??!!!)
