They were on it when I bought it 25 years ago. :-) CEET still makes the tank covers. and the fork covers pop up on Ebay quite often. I think Freaksfix here on this site has a NOS Maier set for the 84. I can't remember if they were red or green though..

Ross, you always do a wonderful job. They look great. I can't believe you sold the green one. Did you see the post about those tires? $91 shipped for a set of 2 on Ebay. What are you going to do about a tank?

I did see that post Doug, I bought these tires right from Titan tire store ( http://www.titantirestore.com/store/fast-trker.html ) about a year ago. I've got a line on a good red tank, I hope it will match the new seat that's in the works, if not then a Clarke it will be (hopefully not). I couldn't pass up the $$ I got out of the green one, and truth be told (please don't hate me for saying this) I just found I would prefer to ride my R over the tecate. This one may be different as it is a little more of a custom build, and I don't have as much into it, It will be a keeper.

    Ross..
How much do tecates like your green one go for in Canada? Also, do 86-7's ever pop up?
