    Rawhide 3 tires

i just ordered some for my 85' BR . i used the search function but couldnt really find what i was looking for. first off was wondering if anyone had a pic with them on their bike and second was wondering what people thought of them. i couldnt find any reviews and they were real cheap on ebay because they were discontinued. anybody have these tires ?

like i said though i already pulled the trigger, just hoping i didnt screw up too bad

Yeah those r nice. The lug isn't too tall or thick so it helps keep the weight of the tire down a little.

Yeah- those were very common in the 80's'. I had some very old ones on my latest 185s but they got worn and dry rotted cracks -but still held air. They were 21" and had them all the way around. They looked so tough. And they were very light. Remember to line up the paddles on the rear for best performance.

i got my tires in today. i knew what it was when i saw the box on the front porch but couldnt figure out why the box was so dogone heavy. man these tires are no joke. the tread pattern is way more pronounced/aggressive than i expected. no turf tamers thats for sure. but i havent seen em on the wheels yet. i pick em up from the shop around the corner tomorrow. they are seriously heavy tires and i wonder how the old girl is gonna turn on the pavement. the front tire is still the ohtsu so we'll see how long it will last. i should prob just buy another 2 for that cheap price and have a spare. well i'll post some pics of her tomorrow

OK, so, i guess i'm thinking i'll give them a try. This is for a freshen up of an 85 250es Big Red for my dad. He's turning 72 in July and he still likes to ride. Anyway,, 25x12-9 is stock. The size AR3051 is 25x11.5-9, but a cheaper option is the AR3373 which is 25x12-9. Should work, right? Anyone have any reason why not? Why is the smaller tire more $?

Ok folks. Tires are in and i've mounted them. Working on a little 85 Big Red refresh for my Dad's 72nd birthday. So far, i like the tires. They're heavy, but not overly so, like the bear claws. Also, they're 2-ply, so they're noticeably softer. I think they will soften up even more after some ride time. They look great. They're a full inch and a half taller than the 25x12-9 Deestone I took off the front. I'm not sure how the ride will be, but i'm hopeful. The treads are not nearly as aggressive as the bear claws or ITP Mud Lites, so I'm hoping that the handling will be better and that they'll break loose on proper terrain. I think they're gonna be the nuts in the snow. Ride report and pics to follow when the tank gets finished.
