    Mondexbrute's 350x Thread

    So here it is my new 350x project! I took lots of pics this morning. I have a list of things that need to be done & that I want to do.

    Things I have already done:

    ~ Changed the oil
    ~ Drained the old gas & cleaned out the tank
    ~ Put Maier Super Scoops on (came with it, also have OEM ones but one has a crack in it)
    ~ Oiled the Air Filter
    ~ Adjusted the handlebars & ordered a new set of Oury handgrips
    ~ Cleaned the carb
    ~ Checked all nuts and bolts
    ~ New Hand Grips
    ~ Tightned the chain
    ~ Redid the inside of the tank with POR 15
    ~ PRM Six Pack Rack
    ~ Tapperline Swing Arm Skid Plate
    ~ DG Xccellerator exhaust
    ~ new Holeshot GNCC 21x11x9 rear tires on .190 Douglas wheels
    ~ Installed good kickstarter
    ~ New OEM Gas Cap
    ~ 400X Seat by Mrs. Mosh
    ~ Rebuilt Engine with Corey Sprock 400cc Big Bore Kit
    ~ 23.5x8x11 Front Max front tire on Douglas .190 wheel
    ~ K&N Filter with Outerwears
    ~ PEP Easy pull Clutch Lever
    ~ OEM Honda clutch
    ~ New Maier Rear Fenders
    ~ 400EX Carb



    Things I want to do:

    ~ Different Handlebars
    ~ OMF engine skid plate
    ~ Pro Design Kill Switch
    ~ Dura Blue + 4 axle & axle lock nuts
    ~ Custom 400X decals

    I rode down to the end of the street & back. One rear tire was flat, I didnt know that. But it hauls ass. Im about to go out in the garage right now & clean the carb. Hopefully I can go for a good ride tomorrow.

    ~ Needs a new full exhaust, hopefully I can find a nice Super Trap system (the Cobra is beat to hell & has holes in it)

    ~ Dura Blue + 4 axle & axle lock nuts
    ~ Build the spare engine up
    I love that blue front brake line cover. Do you know what it is because I would like to get the same for mine.

    Its just wire loom, you should be able to get it at your local auto parts store.

    1986 350x stock
    1986 350x stock basket case
    1987 350x quad-powroll motor in a 250x frame
    1987 250x 250r a-arms extended chrome swinger
    1991 300x 250x with a 300ex cylinder-my beater
    1993 330ex under construction-ex wife stole it!
    1985 250SX bought from 250sxman
    1985 250SX needs a few parts
    1988 350x 250x frame stock 350x motor
    2003 Yamaha Road Star Silverado
    I gotta quit buying these things.

    yes it is split wire loom & yes its an 86' motor. Are there any differences between a 85' & 86' engine?

    Also i am dire need of a chain adjustment tool if any one has one that they can spare please help, thanks.

    The most obvious difference is how the clutch operates... pulls to the front on an '85 and to the left on an '86 (did I get that right?)
    There are supposedly slight differences inside the motor, and if I'm right, the cases are a little different...

    Well I don't know how picky you are about using "the right tool" but I've always just used a small and punch to loosen and tighten the chain. As long as you don't whack the adjuster to hard, you won't leave marks in it.

    Also the front forks seem really soft! I read the manual & it said the to not air them up over 10 psi, but it also said 0 psi is normal??? How do I make them stiffer?
