broke the clutch cable on my rider so i got a new one put it on and now the clutch will not ingauge even if i pull the shaft on the motor with my hand any clue why.....

It wont engage or disengage? My 81 wouldnt disengage turns out my new clutch cable was too long. Maybe pull the clutch cover and look around to make sure you didnt smoke the clutch,look for grooves in the clutch basket,check the spring height ect.

it wont engage put it in gear with motor off and pull the shaft on the side of the motor with my hand and it will not roll the shaft seem to easy to pull before the cable broke it was not that easy to pull

Have you tried the two adjustments, the one on the lower part of motor, and also the one on the lever perch? It is the correct cable for the model, and not somthing else?
