I just changed my oil on the BR for the first time and when I drained the old oil....It almost filled up a gallon ice cream pale.. 4 quarts...WTF?!
I put 2.2 quarts back in it but that looks like about half of what I took out...![]()

Either the previous owner way overfilled it or water got added to the oil. Was it running fine before the change?
Rob
The oil looked good. No water...Just way over filled....It ran great before I put fresh oil in today..It purrred... The only thing I noticed that may not have been right was the low end of the engine seemed to get HOT....I bet it will run even better now?!?!
That's crazy!! Lucky no blown gaskets...
I measured the oil that came out...It was just under 3 quarts...so it was overfilled for sure but not as much as I had first thought..
looks like the last owner never read the manual

Sp mt is in my back yardI live at the base of the mt on the St. Louis river...lots of good riding around here- granted it is not legal but I never get bothered by the law.
Thats cool... I gotta imagine there tons of cool places to ride up that way! Your gonna need a plow for your BR now!
