    350x timing info

is there any easyier way to change timing secret besides unbolting sprocket and moving it?

i did a top end rebuild on my 85 350x, and put it back together, the timing was off so i had reset it, the way the manuel said to install it. lines on the sprocket were off like 1/16th of an inch. because it wouldnt stay on the T mark when i got it on it.

i put it back together recleaned the carb, and when i kick it over is spits and fires thats it, i kick the he!! out of it. if fires like it gonna run then nothing.

    what you 350X experts think

Sure you weren't 180 out? Many times I've rebuilt engines and the lines aren't dead nuts, but a tooth one way or the other makes it far worse.

180 out won't bend the valves but 170 or 190 might...... That would be 180 and a couple teeth off.

    Double check your manual.

I believe the 350X has to have the "O" at 12 0-clock and the lines should be fairly parallel to the head surface with both cam lobes facing down.

Also make sure your looking at "T" and not "F"; And take the plug out so crank rotation isn't so erratic.........
