What's the best way to remove tire tread?

Not talking about just doing a big smokey burnout here guys I have a set of nearly new turf buster tires heres what they look like. http://www.carlisletirestore.com/trfbstr_atv.htm These tires suck worst than s they ball up so easy in mud and are very heavy tires. I had the idea of trying to cut some of the lugs out of the tread to get some more bit out of them and to get them to clean out better. I know they make tools for tire grooving which is heated and melt the tread off. Is there another way to cut the tread out thats easy? Any other common garage tools that will do the job? Any pics of cut tires or suggestions is great!

I had those tires and I had them. I removed the tread by removing the whole tire and replacing it. They suck so bad. I have heard of people using a steak knife to cut out tread, but those Turf Busters had hard as a rock. I wouldn't even bother save some money for some good tires.

find somebody whit a hot knife its the best way.
Yup they suck they ball up with mud really bad the best way to run them is low pressure so they grab the ground and actually turn when you want them to.
