Picked these up for free a couple months ago. The xl80 needs a bore and piston, wiring harness, all the lights and some plastic. I plan on a nice restoration for this gem, gonna be a sweet pit bike. The yammi needs the carb rebuilt, a throttle cable and a good cleaning and some plastic. Gonna try to get it running and looking nice. Might give it to the neighbor kid, he's a great kid and his ol man just doesn't have the money to get him something to ride. He does ride the piss out of my wheelers though. Kinda got him under my wing, maybe try to get him into motocross.

I'm not sure what exactly the yami is, side cover says 100, so I assume a 100cc. Serial number is JYA3ULW09PA045688. Anyone know a site where I can decipher the serial number? Thanks, Matt.

Hi Dave! I just picked up a 1980 XL250s that was a craig's list barn find about an hour and 1/2 southwest of me for $450. I rebuilt the carb and adjusted everything properly, plus had a key made for it and installed a new battery and she runs like a dream. I also buffed the tank and the plastics and de-greased everything. The guy even put an old school Supertrapp slip on on it some years ago. I'm just waiting for my O.E. petcock to arrive and then she's cherry.

P.S. these pics are before cleaning.

Then of course I still have the CT.

P.S. how's Big Red been treating ya?

I'm pretty sure it's exactly like the plastics say it is - a Yamaha RT100. My buddy had one of those when we were kids - 2 stroke but very tame. My other buddies cr80r would whomp the RT100's butt.

Judging by the funky colored plastics, it's from the Vanilla Ice Era ie early to mid 90's!
