    KX Stator/Flywheel for an 84/85 Tecate Questions/Opinions?

From reading through all the old posts I see that this is possible, so heres my situation and question:

I bought a parts 86 Tecate a while back (basically a big box of parts with no plastic), and just got around to checking things out, anyway I pulled the stator cover off and found that is has a KX stator/flywheel in the bottom end that came with it (no cdi or harness), from what I understand a KX cdi is required to run it an I would likely have to build a wiring harness (can someone verify this) also what year span of KX cdi's are known to work? I plan on trying it in my 84 drag project, Im assuming it will help to get the rpms up a little faster than the stock KXT ignition.... any opinions?

    Thanks

Yes, it will rev faster. Tecate50 has done it before, and had a set of KX electronics for sale at one time.
