    Forks 101, help???

I know there's been a bunch of info on fork swaps on here but i can't seem to work the search bar to find it. Need a refresher on the pro's and con's of the various fork designs. Namely the 200x, 250r and the 350x. I know the 250r ones are preferred over the 350x, but why? What about the 200x's, I assume they're weaker than the r's, how do they compare with the x's? What advantage do you gain with the axle bolt in front of the fork tubes, rather than behind it?
Any info would be appreciated, or if you know of a link that covers all this?

Trailing axle turns slower than leading axle.

    I believe - 200X are 32 or 33MM, 350X 35MM and 250R 39MM with 2 more inches of travel.

With 350X forks you can use 83/84250R internals to mimic the "Terry Cable fork kit" back in the day which improves suspension and add thicker oil.

With 250R forks you get 4MM larger , more travel, and the 86 forks are a single spring similar tom a progressive spring and you can thicken that oil also.

Putting a 250R on a 350X is not an easy bolt on bod. There is fab work to do, welding to do and I moved my tank back for more turning radius.

Depending on what you weigh and how aggressive you ride, 350X forks may be fine for you with just 20wt oil, or the parts I mentioned above...........

P.S. - Nearly EVERY 200X fork I encounter is bent.
