they will fit but the gas tank if differnt so there to make it look nice you need a 79-82 tank

Good to know!....I think id like to repair my fender for now unless I can find a 83+ set of fenders since my tank is in mint shape I dont want to swap it....

So how can I fix the huge hole in my fender? Can I just rivit in another peice of broken fender? I dont care if it looks kinda sketchy I just need a good temp fix...

You could get some bendable plastic and rivit into place. Then paint the rivets red. It would look better then the gray rivets. You dont have to remove the tank also.

What would be a good plastic to use? Somthing I can find around the house? Otherwise I was thinking of cutting the rear fenders right off....

Could I take the seat off my 84 fenders and screw it into the 80 or 82 fenders to make it fit nice to the gas tank?

Um i think no with out moding the holes in the fender. You will have to drill new holes then it should work.
