boring and bumping up compression ???s

So, I am in the process of making this 185S a nice
Trike. I am getting all new fenders , seat, tires, and
Doing a top end rebuild. My question is, is it a significant
Power gain by going from stock 8.0 : 1 to a .50 over
10.25 : 1 ???? If so, will I have to change carb, and will
    It hurt the transmission any?

why would you bore it out .50 over?, i dont beleive its a power gain . use after market exhaust, air filter and larger carby jets. id keep it stock. just my opinion.

Cool, I need all the opinions I can get, reason
For .50 over is that's the piston size from wiseco
    For the 10.25 : 1 , but if it isn't a substantial gain
Then I will just hone and re-ring, and do valve seals
    Gaskets , etc,...

I have a 200 top end(65mm piston instead of 63mm) on my 185s with aftermarket exhaust and air filter. I don't have the high compression piston but the next time It gets tore into thats what it will be getting.

I have 10-41 gearing which slows it down quite a bit from stock(I wanted it to be a little slower on the trail). It tops out at 48mph.

Not trying to thread steal but this caught my eye.
Ford, Did u have to change anything to fix the bigger head on the 185s or use a different piston.

The owner before me changed it over. Should be a direct bolt on. The stock piston from the 200 was used in the swap. I am going to upgrade to the 10.25 compression piston when it starts burning oil(which should be awhile, was re-ringed about 3 years ago without much run time).

I'm going to go ahead and do the 10.25 : 1 and
Take advantage of having it torn down to do so,
I think the higher compression will be a decent
Increase in over all power, its a fun trike as it sits
But why not go for more power with the available
Opportunity! It's smoking so I'm doing top end
    Regardless....

you can bolt on any 81-85 200cc honda top end. if you want extra pop for a good deal. get your jug bored to the wiseco 65m 200cc piston. (10.25:1 ) then get a xr200cam. and run the 185 head. will save ya some $ but work just fine.
