There have been a few threads talking about production numbers (such as this one), but they always seem to skip the 1987 250SX.

The way those production numbers were calculated is by subtracting the final VIN number from the first VIN number using a site such as www.cyclepartsnation.com.
If you check that site, it lists the VIN range numbers for many models, unfortunately the 1987 250SX is not one of them:

Maybe those with 87 250SX's can post their VIN - we can use the highest-posted number as an estimate that will tell us the minimum that were produced...

When i bought my 87 from the original owner, he told me that the dealer only had 2 for sale in fall 2006 and he sold them the same day and this was it. (quebec dealers).
