BigWheel/Tri Z Question

The BigWheels have a 9 inch rear tire like the Tri Z. Are they interchangeable?

Does anyone know the offset and width for the rear wheels for the Z?

Does anyone put different wheels on the Zs to get a better selection of tires to choose from? The selection of tires for a 9" rim sucks.

85 tri-z had an 8 inch rear wheel and 86's had 9's on the rear.

I axkle splines for all Yamaha sport bikes are the same. ie: warrior,raptor,banshee,blaster,and even the 3wheelers. I put banshee hubs on my 225dx and I can now run 4 x 115 anything on it. I can swap tires on all my bikes now. I picked up the hubs from ebay for like 20 bucks.

Are all of these rims 0 offset? That would be more critical on the BigWheel since it would affect the alignment of the sprockets and chain.

what are you wanting run 8's on the back? for better selection of tire? I believe the blaster and tri-z both used a 4 x 100 bolt pattern.

no. the tri-z rears are not centered.. infact they have negative offset.

That's a bummer but not the end of the world. Is it possible to get aftermarket rims for the Z that allow the use of different sized rubber? ie: can you mount ten inch rims on the Z?

thers lotsa tire/wheel/hub options for a Z.. the real question is what bolt pattern and offset does the bigwheel need?

The BigWheel rims can be used in either direction, so I assume that it has 0 offset. I was thinking of a 10 inch rim to improve the rubber selection.

I need a rear that I can put studs into and the choices in a 9 inch are slim.

A couple of the answers above imply that most of the Yamahas have the same bolt patterns. Is that what seems to be the consensus?

4/100 for the blaster and tri-z.. 4/115 for the other sport machines.. banshee, warrior, raptor, yfz...

It turns out that the BigWheel rear is a 4x1.25. It is a 9x9 rim. Is there anything else in the Yamaha inventory that shares the 1.25 spacing.

I emailed ITP and they said that they have nothing for the application. It could be that they do not have an interest in the market, but is there anything else that is this size?
