Hey guys. Ive been looking for the perfect color for my tecate. Ive had it green and black. Stock color. Green frame and some painted parts. Looked ok. Now the frame is purple and looks way better. But still im not happy with that. Been thinking of the darker "Kawie" blue to match my new seat cover. Lets see those different colored tecates.

Kawi decided to paint their race bikes green because at the time green was considered an unlucky color on a motorcycle, their point was "You don't need luck, you need a Kawasaki..." They stuck with it, its simply a tradition... I think the "Red Tecates" were simply camouflaged sleeper bikes, they allowed a few Tecates to sneak into the racing scene and kick some Honda butt before they knew what was going on

I'm throwin' around a paint scheme for my 84', which I have black fenders coming soon. So many silver and green frames. A few blue. I wanted to do gray, but ScottZJ did his in that color and looks good. So I'm just goin' with a white frame, I give up trying to decide. What really looks cool is Orange, some stud on here has the sweetest 85' I have ever seen in orange and green.
83' 200x (son's). 85' 200 auto-x & 85' 125m (daughters). 84' Tecate(?). 85' KXT Tecate (mine!, mine!, mine!.)+ some others but don't feel like typing them in.

I dunno 250tecates, I tossed that around. But wanted to add more green. Already have a green a-arm, was gonna paint the hubs and forks green, IDK. I just thought with a white frame I could go with any color of fender or accent. I guess I like my Orange as a kind of one of a kind deal. Who'd have thunk it'd look good. That was just the accent color the CA racer John Rogers used in 85', & he sold my the Tecate, so I went with it to honor him I spose.

Heres mine, red white and blue. It also has a purple frame. I want to get one of those screen type number plates / rad guard in either red or white, I think it would look better than just a radiator. Its still a work in progress, although ridable, but deffinatly not a show machine:

Mine's gonna be black and white...White fenders, black tank... Haven't decided on the frame yet...Prolly just leave it black for the time being....If I had the time and money to do the frame it'd probably be silver.
