As pretty and fun as the stailnles steel, after a few runs, it becomes extremely brittle. They have a tendancy to crack. Unless you get use a really thick stainless steel, which is heavy.

I have always shyed away from them myself. They do not dissipate heat very well and that might cause you some issues, but to each there own. I could bend you up a few, Really just depends on what you want ( Brackets, Gaurds, Stock Bend, Polished/ Finished etc )
Materials would cost ( Roughly)
$300 - 304l SS
$60 - SS Plate for brackets
$60 - Exhaust Collars

another thing with the stainless depending on it grade it can heat up too much and warp and lose seal which will give you an awful sound and backfires, best to stick with steel, have you tried having a muffler shop make you one yet sometimes they will do it for super cheap prices. The slap a hight temp black spray paint on it I did it to one of my pipes after taking my drill with a steel brush attachment on it to clean the pipe up nice
what about thick alloy? would that work for a head pipe? afterall the head is alloy and does not melt.

I guess every thing depends on warpage for a head pipe and also how brittle is it going to get when it gets hit with cold water when hotter than heck, is half the reason cat iron breaks on exhaust manifolds on cars over time it gets brittle and fine cracks from the heating and cooling effect

There's the post on what I did with my 200x. On the second page you can see the final results with the pipe ceramic coated. Been riding it for about 3 years now and it still hasn't turned blue, discolored, or cracked. Best part of it all the whole exhaust was done on the cheap.

This is a old school solution. pipe wrap. Back in the day Tom Carlson (TC racing) use to wrap the headpipes on all his 350x's and he would eat us alive with them. In my book he was the original 4 stroke gueru. After having my butt handed to me to many times I finially asked why. 1. lower temp = less heat cooler engine = more hp. 2. Covers up that rusted ugly a@# headpipe. In my book he built the nastiest 350x ever . It also makes your friend wonder what you've done , unless you want a sleeper...

^ Sorry bud, I missed that........... And I see it was Jegs (good guess on my part) I did remember that someone had done it
Did they have different diameters for Ironchop? He wanted 1.375 either ID or OD, It's in this thread but thats what he wanted.
Maybe it can help both of them............

Yep If you scroll down to the Mild steel section on that page there is a bend with 1-3/8" OD tube, I'm pretty sure that's the one I used. I can't remember the radius I used, but whatever one it was it was about as perfect as you could get for the 200x. I want to say it was the 2.5" radius
