I tore down my 85 R motor and noticed it has boysen reed pedels in the stock cage, (the white ones) and on my old 86 reeds stock reeds there is metal tabs so the reeds can only open so far. The 85 dont have that on is that bad?

I got these I'm pretty sure sitting in the garage should I use the metal stopper pieces with these ones. I got some reed spacers too what is the purpose of them?
