Or am I thinking of someone else? If it was you, what happened to the conversion?
My R had what I thought was a badly bent front end when I got it. Boy was I wrong.

i thought all would remember his post about this ,,, wow !
the fella who owned the 350x lived and the fella that had the converted bike died.
i was wondering why the header pipe was wrapped in something like asbestos or what ever it is. i would'nt think it be very good for the heat disapation. kinda hold it in + gotta go somewhere like back up the pipe to the head,,,
well you got to ride it ! that's gotta be a good feeling ! now i don't recall what you paid for it ,,, how much ???

Jeb- yes i was going to do that (ask about buying it) but i didnt. My dad found it through a friend of his. i have no idea what happened to the other one. i asked but the guy said that there family had split up from this werck and they no longer talk to each other. the forks straightned up perty good but they dont go up and down just kinda stay in the up position.Originally Posted by Jeb
jeswinehart- the head pipe is wraped because there is no heat guard. i have see many people do this around here. they will just wrap it until the sclincer. its not suposto give you any hores power just save your leeg. i dono ive never riden one with it on it. i dotn know about it being a good feeling. kinda diffrent knowing that it had killed somone but i also think its not the guy on the 350's fault. it cost us $300
damn good deal, even though it is trashed, i would say that you still got a good deal, it must have power look at you ripping shiit up, and if it runs, then just the engine is worth $300

i'll pass along something i thought up ( all by my self - lol) to you NOS_350X ,,, although i am sure i ain't the first human to do it.
i run a after market header coupled to a stock exhaust ( what i had to work with ). it didn't have the mounting studs on it for a stock heat sheild.
i used what i call pipe stand offs for my heat sheild to header mounts.
allows you to secure to a round pipe + gives you a threaded rod to attach the heat sheid. by no means a bolt on thing but cheap + it filled up a couple of hours of quility garage time plus turns out well ( done it twice on x's). i picked up my "pipe stand off's" at a eletrical wholesaler.
you will have a very nice x in time i am sure ,,, heck, it ain't too bad now ! it's alive ) !!!
