    JoeShow's ATC310R build from scratch

Hey hey, gettin back into it all, sold my trikes that i brought to life, picked a sad looking 85 250r up for $300. needs a crank and piston to run... came across a CT310 jug w/ spacer, piston and crank for $550, i'll be gettin it in a couple weeks!!

the down side is i sold my BRV and 38mm A/S and fatty that was on my other trikes.... so for now i'm stuck usen stock intake and exhaust hope she'll ride decently!!!

my goal is the trike in my picture i had, BRV, 38mm A/S, K&N and Fatty.... it frieken ripped!! loved my air cooled too, BRV, 38mm A/S, K&N, Hondaline 300cc and DG, just it lacked a gear!!!! now i'll have that missing gear!!!! soo stoked!!! oh and it will be jetted for 40:1? (20L : 500ML) seems to me one of my trikes i jetted for 80:1? (20L:250ML) man i love building these things!!!!

Would love to have this complete before May24, Trudeau Park, its a huge bash/ripping party!!!

    Sorry, had to share!! lol

I would have paid 300 bucks for that R. It is a good starting point, especially when a guy dosent want to spend 1K plus for one. At least this way, one day down the road, you will have a machine that you built the way you want it, and know that it is reliable and fixed the right way. Good luck with the buid, and post pics along the way! We all love to see a trike be brought back to life.

i hear ya, got looking at it and really the only thing that i noticed its missing is some seat/fender rubbers, tool box and head light! my air cooled was missing way more and i paid 900 for it, then built it (aprox 2000 in parts)... the last 2 trikes i built were verry reliable, 1 spark plug would last like 100 hours, pretty much a season! loved it!

    it'll get here eventually lol

right on! lol i dont go in an order, it all depends on what i get a deal on.... figure out what all ya need, then keep your eyes open, watch n see what your parts are going for so you know what is cheep and whats not.... carbs and bearings are like the only things i wont buy used.... with the 310cc i'll need atleast a 38mm PWK A/S carb.... i'm debating on usen a BRV again or trying the V-Force, i loved the sound and performance the BRV gave my stock bore 85!!! and for a pipe i'll need a Paul Turner or ?? cant think of the name :/ lol

thanks guys, i'm looking forward to this build too!!!! lol

well got a carb, 38mm PWK A/S, LRD set it up for a 265cc high comp engine apparently... the little "boost bottle" is pretty much useless, its vented to atmosphere! lol oh well it was a cheap PWK A/S.....

before i can start putting the engine together, i gotta get a complete bearing and seal kit, since the engine is torn right down.

just found out that ESR has their big bore kits on for $400 off!!! 310 PV for $699, if im rich enough next week i might have to get one!!!Click image for larger version.

FYI The "boost bottle" is actually just a venting system that equalizes the carb's vents. You mount it up on the frame above the vent holes in the carb. It's supposed to be vented to atmosphere.

the normal boost bottle only has 1 hose and stores atomized fuel/air mix for when you hit the throttle, it is installed after the carb... and the bottle has some flex to it to allow the engine to suck some of the mix.... on this carb, well all PWK A/S's already have lines that equalizes the carbs vents. so this thing has no use except to make people ask questions lol

So in other words, this is not a "boost bottle" at all. A boost bottle is something totally different.

    Red Rider is right!!! lol

well i got the ct kit, the head has brass particles in the head which is not the head that ct sends with their kits.... it appears the brass or copper particles are from the washer beside the connecting rod on the crank end (believe its called a thrust washer) im not happy lol
